Spanish Major Melinda Sevilla Reflects on her Year in Madrid

My story was featured on the Department of Languages, Cultures and Literatures News Center.

The Department of Languages, Cultures and Literatures encourages our students - especially our majors and minors - to enhance their studies by taking classes abroad. Those who do return to USD saying that it was a life-changing experience, that their time abroad increased their language skills, expanded their intellectual and social horizons, and made them new friends. Many of our alumni report years after graduating that those friendships are still cherished.  Melinda Sevilla is one of the students who has written with great enthusiasm of her time in Madrid. We hope that her adventures (and ingenuity in extending her stay) will inspire other students to study abroad themselves.
